A rutted, uneven driveway isn't just an eyesore - it's a functional problem. Water pools, vehicles bottom out, and the surface keeps breaking down. That's exactly what we were dealing with here in Plymouth.

We started by grading the existing surface down with a skid steer, cutting out the ruts and rough spots to get a clean, stable base. That prep work is what most people skip, and it's also the reason so many gravel driveways end up back in rough shape within a season or two. You can't just dump stone on top of a bad surface and call it done.

Once the grading was right, we brought in fresh crushed stone and spread it full-width from edge to edge. The result is a driveway that sheds water properly, handles vehicle traffic without breaking down, and actually looks sharp coming off the road.

Grading and drainage aren't glamorous, but they're the foundation of everything. A driveway that drains well lasts longer, requires less maintenance, and holds its surface through freeze-thaw cycles and heavy rain. Getting that slope right from the start is the whole game.

This is the kind of work we do every day - straightforward, done right, no shortcuts. Whether it's a long private driveway or a short run to a garage, the process is the same.
